Charge up at Libbie Mill!
/At Libbie Mill, we pride ourselves on doing things differently. Placemaking, or the art of creating quality public spaces that contribute to people’s health, happiness and well being, is at the center of the vision for our community. Today, not only will you find attractive buildings and architecture at Libbie Mill, but you will also find public spaces that add to the quality of life for our residents, visitors and businesses. Some of these places include Jordan’s Branch Trail, the beginning of which circumnavigates the community, delivering a manicured path perfect for walking the dog, biking, or working out at convenient outdoor exercise stations, and Libbie Lake and Pier which offer spaces for public festivals and special events that invite and support the local community.
Our emphasis on the public realm does not stop there! Over the last few years we have made great strides in bringing convenient, eco-friendly technology into the community. As electric vehicles and energy efficient methods of travel gain popularity throughout the world, Libbie Mill is poised to make a big impact in the central Virginia region. We currently have 15 charging stations installed throughout the community, with the capacity to charge up to 30 electric vehicles at once. Our statistics show that these charging stations have helped our community avoid about 70,000kg of greenhouse gas emissions, which is equivalent to planting 1,779 trees and letting them grow for 10 years! We’ve even begun to attract local groups, such as Drive Electric RVA, which helps promote electric vehicles as a fun, practical transportation choice that also improves air quality and combats climate change. Our vision challenges the established way of doing things, and we look forward to making more positive impacts on public spaces and implementing sustainable technology solutions in the future.
