Henrico-based Gumenick Properties is pleased to announce that The Pressery Modern Massage and Organic Spa has leased approximately 2,526 square feet in the Emmer Row building located at 4901 Libbie Mill East Boulevard at Libbie Mill – Midtown. The work to transform the space into The Pressery has begun, and they anticipate opening in Spring 2021. Harrison Hall of Colliers International represented Gumenick Properties, and Peter Vick of Colliers International represented The Pressery in the transaction.

The Pressery will be located in Emmer Row right next to Towne Bank

The Pressery is the latest business venture from Sugar & Hive Beauty Bar founder, Summer Layton. After opening several successful Sugar & Hive locations since 2017, Ms. Layton decided to turn her focus to what she saw as another underserved market in the Richmond region, massage and organic skin care. By bringing her attention to detail and customer focused approach to the massage industry, Ms. Layton will be uniquely suited to offer an organic spa experience unlike other local competitors. Clients can look forward to upscale massage and organic facial services, as well as the availability of organic retail product lines, with a focus on wellness and selfcare throughout. “We are very excited to be a part of the growing and vibrant Libbie Mill community,” reported Ms. Layton. “I always like to make sure our mission is aligned with the communities we occupy in all of our business ventures and The Pressery is such a special and peaceful retreat and we know it will be well received by the residents and businesses alike. It fits in perfectly. We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome you in.”

“We are delighted to add The Pressery to our growing mixture of retail services for the community,” states Diane Tidwell, Gumenick Properties’ director of property management for Virginia. “Retail interest at Libbie Mill – Midtown is as strong as ever, keeping pace with our growing residential population at Penstock Quarter apartments, and in our townhome and condominium neighborhood.”

In addition to The Pressery lease, progress continues at Libbie Mill – Midtown. Starbucks and 9Round recently opened at the new Corner Shops retail building. Construction also continues at Wellsmith Apartments, the new 349-unit apartment building, opening in Winter 2021. This building will offer a mix of studio, 1-, 1+ Den-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartment homes for rent, as well as dynamic amenity spaces for residents. There also continues to be strong demand for new-construction townhomes and condos at The Neighborhood at Libbie Mill. The clubhouse and pool within the for-sale community opened earlier this summer.
